About the Opportunity
Sproutwise is growing, and we are building a flexible delivery bench to support our clients as they scale. We are looking for a People Ops Delivery Specialist who can step into execution-heavy, hands-on work and help keep core People Operations running smoothly across multiple client environments.

In this role, you will support early-stage and growing organizations. The work is practical and foundational in nature and includes recruiting coordination, onboarding, benefits administration, and day-to-day People Ops support. You will operate as an extension of our clients’ internal teams, carrying work forward under Sproutwise’s direction and standards.

Candidates must be based in Michigan and comfortable with occasional local travel. Client work may be fully remote or may require occasional onsite presence, particularly for first-day orientations, recruiting support, or hands-on People Operations delivery. This is a part-time, demand-based contract role with hours that flex based on active client commitments. This role is best suited for someone who is comfortable doing the work, navigating ambiguity, and flexing between tasks as client needs evolve.

What You Will Do
Execute and deliver day-to-day People Operations work across client organizations, operating within clearly defined scopes, priorities, and timelines.

Own and execute onboarding processes from start to finish, including payroll setup, HRIS entry, I-9 completion, benefits eligibility tracking, and first-day orientations.

Support recruiting operations by posting roles, monitoring applicants, conducting initial screens, scheduling interviews, and maintaining candidate tracking for active roles.

Coordinate closely with hiring managers and Sproutwise team members to keep recruiting processes moving and reduce bottlenecks.

Maintain accurate employee records, conduct routine audits, and ensure compliance with documentation requirements.

Support benefits administration by tracking eligibility milestones, assisting with enrollments, and coordinating with brokers or vendors as needed.

Track performance review timelines and support managers in completing reviews on schedule, ensuring documentation is complete and organized.

Work within client HR systems such as HRIS, ATS, payroll, and benefits platforms, escalating issues appropriately and flagging improvement opportunities.

Assist with implementing and maintaining standardized HR processes and documentation as organizations grow, with a focus on consistency, clarity, and follow-through.

What You Bring

Three or more years of experience in HR Generalist, People Operations, or recruiting roles, ideally within small, growing, or operationally complex organizations.

Hands-on experience with onboarding, recruiting coordination, payroll support, and benefits administration.

Comfort working in environments where systems are still evolving and priorities can shift quickly, but where execution expectations are clear.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple workflows without losing detail or momentum.

Clear, professional communication skills and the ability to build trust with managers and employees.

Experience working independently with guidance, knowing when to execute and when to escalate.

Experience using common HR platforms such as Paychex, Gusto, Rippling, BambooHR, or similar systems.

Ability and willingness to provide onsite support when needed, particularly for onboarding and recruiting delivery.
